Light and Lifestyle Photography

securedownloadNext to birth photography, my photographic passion lies in lifestyle photography. I love to capture the real moments in life, much more than posed smiling pictures. I love the image below, completely unposed, so much more than if I were to try to get them to sit up straight and smile at the camera. As a mom, these are the moments I want to remember with my children.

I am so excited to share an upcoming photography class taught my a friend of mine. I have been a member of the Clickin Moms forum for a few years now. Not only have I improved my skills in that time but I have also made a some great local friends, including Jennifer Bogle. Jennifer is teaching a breakout class at Clickin Moms starting next week. Jennifer has been an inspiration to me photographically.  Her images and use of light never fail to move me.securedownload

(she also has really cute kids which is an extra bonus!)

Here is the course description:

In this breakout, Jennifer shares her personal philosophy on light and demonstrates her approach to creating beautiful images in a variety of lighting situations. She identifies the challenges she faces and tools she reaches for in full sun, at sunset, overcast days, natural window light, and after dark. From shooting client sessions to grabbing images with her family at the bowling alley, she also breaks down how she decides whether natural or artificial light will achieve the look she wants in any given situation.   Finally, she shares her love of incorporating flash into her family images in both ordinary and extraordinary ways.
