All photos in this post are taken on my iPhone. You might recognize some if you follow me on Instagram. Which you should because I love Instagram! So, here I am, back from my unintended blogging break.
First, I was tired and busy from returning from New Zealand. It takes about 30 hours (give or take) to get door to door between my house and my children’s in New Zealand. My parents were kind enough to pick Jubilee and me up from the airport and we got home just in time to drive directly to Hezekiah’s school for his band concert at 7:30 PM. Yep, straight from the airport to a band concert.
Because I’m that awesome of a mom.
The next morning, I was up at 6 am
dragging children out of bed gently encouraging my children to arise for a day of learning. There is, as they say, no rest for the wicked.
These photos are from Percy’s first outing….to Brac and Bow!
And then. My right hand started acting up. I was experiencing shooting pain from my hand up through my shoulder. Nothing was helping. I was taking ibuprofen around the clock to help with the swelling but it didn’t help with the pain. Anything I did (or didn’t do) with my hand hurt so I tried not to use it for a few days. I don’t know if you are aware of this or not, but taking photos, editing photos, and typing all require the use of your hand.
Preferably the use of two hands.
My hand feels better but it is still sore. I have had tendinitis (but, strangely in my left, non-dominate hand) but I think this may have been carpal tunnel (my biggest fear) as the pain was very different.
So here I am back. I have a bunch things to share. Our cookie decorating, more photos from New Zealand. All kinds of fun stuff.
Percy with just a few of the family members who are wildly in love with him!
Yesterday was my birthday and it was awesome. Kalina got my coffee ready (because she loves me). I have decided not to set my alarm during Christmas break and so I slept in (past 7 am). On my agenda was:
- Laundry and decluttering (both activities I love)
- Buy my favorite kombucha
I am happy to say I accomplished both of those things. Go me.
Then my daughters gave me the best gift ever. They decided to declutter their room, so I also got to do another of my favorite things. I made a trip to the backside of Goodwill. You know, the side where they take your stuff.
Yes, it was a good day.
And now a few more New Zealand iPhone photos:
Amazing, fresh apricot danishes!
Jubilee gained so much confidence traveling in New Zealand! She’s an old pro, now.
Leaving is SO SAD!
Until we had an unexpected surprise!
We met up with Keziah in the LAX airport! She was waiting to board the same flight as us. Keziah works for Alaska Airlines and gets free flights…so she travels all over for fun. I am so proud of this girl. The seat next to me on the flight from LA to Seattle was empty so we were able to spend the entire flight together, catching up!
