When is the last time you got together with your friends and did something fun? As a mom, life is complicated. A mom with teens, school aged kids, and a few fun special needs thrown in? Sometimes meeting up with my mom friends seems as likely as me climbing Mt. Everest, in my pajamas with no coffee. I decided I need to see my friends more so I decided to host an Art Party. Or a CreativiTEA Party, if you will.
The key to a fabulous party (I’ve found) is always in the details.
Start with a theme.
CreativiTEA was the theme for this party. Why? As much as I love to be creative, I spend way more time cleaning up after my children’s creativity, than creating anything of my own and that often zaps the pleasure right out of it for me. For this party, I decided to lay out all of the ingredients for a fun, creative night for my mom friends.
Food and Drinks
I wanted to pamper my mom friends, so I set out a huge array of fruit, veggies, dips and a few sweet treats as well.
While it’s true I love my coffee, I often enjoy Lipton tea in the evening after the kids are in bed. I grew up on Lipton’s black tea, but love a variety of the teas now (Earl Gray? Yes, please!) Lipton has just updated their entire line of teas, black, green and herbal. Lipton’s new herbal teas combine real ingredients with the natural tea blends to awaken the senses. My favorite is the Peach Mango. In fact, we drank up our box of 24 in just a few days! You can see the entire list of Lipton tea flavors here.
Have the right supplies.
Tilly and I went to the craft store and I might have gone a little overboard. I bought everything:
*paint
*canvases
*water colors
*pens, pencils and markers
*blank notebooks
*coloring books
*washi tape
Kalina and I had great time setting everything out before our guests arrived. I am used to hosting themed parties for my kids, but not for myself. This was just plain fun!
And then we were set free! Some moms painted, some colored, some drew…I sipped my tea and enjoyed the snacks. I even found a cute baby on my floor.
Hi, Ashlinn.
I had so much fun at our CreativiTEA party. I am seriously considering having this be a monthly event. When is the last time you got together with your mom friends?
