Christmas 2015 has come and gone. While I love the advent season and all of the anticipation building up to the celebration of Christ’s birth, I’ll admit I am ready to get back to my daily routine. In the same way that I love Mondays, I love the after Christmas return of regular bedtimes, meals and laundry (always laundry).
As much as I love bedtime (and you know I do) we like to prolong our Christmas Eve celebrations. After the candlelight service at church, we come home to food baked by the children, a warm fire and lots of talking and giggling.
Finally, after bedtime arrives, Chuck and I fill the kids stockings and go to bed ourselves.
Our Christmas day was filled with good food, LEGO, board games, puzzles and family…
..and prime rib. I cannot neglect the fact our Christmas dinner was filled the magic of perfectly cooked (thanks Mom!) prime rib. And mashed potatoes (filled with caramelized onions), gravy and Caesar salad. I’m sure there was more food, but seriously, with that lineup, who needs anything else?
I hope your Christmas was merry and bright, filled with the love of family and friends and the appreciation of Christ’s birth.

Yeah! We had a lovely one. Christmas, my husband does the goose. Thanksgiving, I do the turkey. And this time we had the pleasure of watching our daughter dance in The Nutcracker.
Oh, that must have been fun! What part did your daughter have?
I was surprised to read that you consider Christmas to be done. The celebration of Christmas will continue for quite some time. We will be celebrating his arrival until at least Epiphany.
Our celebration tends to go from the first Sunday of Advent until Christmas day. Nothing official, but that is what we generally do.
Merry Christmas!
I know what you mean about the laundry… 😉
Laundry…always laundry.
I spy pretzel rolls. I could make a meal out of those alone. ; )
Love the simplicity of your family celebration. Happy holidays!
Yes, those pretzel rolls are hard to beat. My mom brought those 🙂 Simple is often best…in my opinion anyway.
