Enoch (15) with his cousin Elijah (15). These two boys have been inseparable. So much so that Elijah has been going to work with Enoch all week! Here they are all spiffed up and looking nice to impress the pretty girls at church. [Don’t tell them I said that!]
We are into week two of my sister-in-law and her adorable Five Man Canadian Crew visiting. We are loving every single day. My sister-in-law has been helping me with the massive project of painting the little boys’ room. It was much more than she bargained for (two words: dead mouse), I’ll tell you that, but she is ambitious and awesome and a true blessing to me. The boys’ room looks amazing! I can’t wait to finish and show you pictures of the best triple bunk evah!
Today I want to share a small spattering of thoughts and opportunities. You’ve heard the saying you can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone. Or maybe I just made that up. Whatever. I did want to share about a few people looking for help.
Haley:
I have mentioned here before about the sister of Apollo’s heart buddy, Josiah was just diagnosed with bone cancer. She is ten years old and has osteosarcoma. Her mom is looking of a surgeon who has done a rotationplasty before. They are looking into this surgical option, but the surgeon in Seattle has not done one of these. They are open to out-of-state options, but aren’t sure where to look. I am asking here because you never know who will have the right contact, connection or information. If you know any doctors or surgeons, perhaps you can ask them. Thank you!
Enoch:
In less than a month Enoch will be heading to Florida to Boot Camp and training for his summer mission trip to Tanzania! He has been working his tail off (yard work, yard work and MORE yard work) to get the money he needs for trip. He has been very blessed with plenty of work and energy to accomplish the work. He still has about $1000 to send in. If any of you are interested in donating, send me an email. While my blog is certainly not a platform to ask for money, some people have expressed an interest in helping.
Now for some cool thing from around the web:
If you’re not already following me on Pinterest, you really should be. One of my favorite boards is Large Family Organization Tips. Here I collect the best of the best for managing large family life. One thing that drives me completely crazy is inefficiency. If there is an easier more efficient way to do something, I will find it. And probably pin it to this board.
Grown-up coloring pages seem to be all the rage now. You can print them for free over at Northern Cheapskate.
Did you see the awesome LEGO gummy recipe on my Facebook page? So cool! We have these LEGO molds and my kids use them all the time. We have made: ice, frozen juice, chocolate, candy and crayons out of these molds and they are still in great shape.
Tilly took senior photos of her cousin, Arianna. I think it’s safe to say she has some talent!

Well, today is supposed to sunny and beautiful, and I plan to enjoy it. Two days of painting and I am ready for some of the great outdoors!

Have your friend contact the University of Rochester Medical Center regarding the rotationplasty for osteosarcoma. They have a top-notch team of oncology doctors and a brand new children’s hospital opening next month.

I just ordered some lego molds as a surprise for my husband! Our little guy is just 2 so he doesn’t really care but my husband asks me ALL THE TIME when Samuel will be old enough to play with real Lego (instead of Duplo) So I’m going to surprise him with some fruit snacks to take to work as a treat and then maybe make some crayons for some little church friends because I’ve been dying to make something with the GALLON of crayon pieces I’ve accumulated

That is so awesome! I remember Chuck trying to play LEGO with one-year-old Adalia. I have photos of it, in fact 🙂 You hubby will love the molds! It is easy to do chocolate in them or melt Jolly Ranchers….have fun!

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta down here in Georgia does many rotationplasties and they also have a strong oncology department. http://www.choa.org/Childrens-Hospital-Services/Orthopaedics/Programs-Services/Bone-Cancer/Rotationplasty
