Earlier this week we had unexpected snow. Here in our little corner of the Pacific Northwest, snow is not a given at all. Some winters we get inches that last for weeks, other winters we don’t see a single snowflake. You can probably guess which winters I love vs which winters the kids love.
When Apollo saw this cold, frozen, magic falling from the sky he had to run out in it immediately. No time for a coat, hat, or mittens.

And in reality, we have to be fast here. We live close to the ocean and the snow can (and does) turn to rain with no warning.

Frodo thought the day it snowed was The Best Day Ever.
But, then again, he is a goofy labradoodle who thinks every day is the Best. Day. Ever.
If only we could bottle that enthusiasm I’d be rich. Move over, essential oils, Labradoodle Joy is here!

This is pretty much what Apollo’s Christmas break has looked like.

Stacks of books, warm fires, and hot chocolate.

Exactly how winter should be done.

Because I get asked frequently, Apollo is wearing his very favorite rainbow striped pajamas from Primary.com. I love Primary and buy most of Apollo’s clothes from them. I did a full review of them here on Large Family Reviews and here is my affiliate link if you are interested in buying from them.
