About Little Earthling Photography

Hello, friends, I am so glad you have found my website! My name is Renee and I have owned my business since 2009 and have been shooting births since 2010. I love shooting lifestyle sessions, kids with special needs, and most of all the miracle of birth. Earlier this year I started partnering with Doulas of Bellingham as their associate photographer.

Changing Seasons

Posted on October 24, 2013 by Renee

Fall is here. The  weather has turned chilly. The leaves are offering endless photography inspiration. This tree is my view out the window as I blog. Pretty sweet. Judah has finally started Driver’s Ed. He was working so hard last fall and spring to earn money for his trip to Zambia, that he wasn’t able…

The Superhero Project {Victoria}

Posted on October 22, 2013May 15, 2019 by Renee

{The Superhero Project is an idea I hatched in my head after watching my son struggle with his health (he has a rare heart defect). I took photos of him dressed as a Superhero with his g-tube clearly showing. He loved the images so much and it was so very healing to me, that I…

A Few Images

Posted on July 11, 2013 by Renee

I’ve been away from this space for a few days. I’ve been full-time chauffeur and mom, part-time laundry lady and occasional cook. All jobs I enjoy (well, except the cooking part) but maybe a little too much of each squeezed into every day. The next few days offer a slower pace, something I’m definitely ready…

The Force is Strong in This One…

Posted on May 25, 2013February 17, 2019 by Renee

Sorry, I couldn’t resist posting just one more. Apollo was so serious during this shoot and didn’t crack a smile once. He was dead-serious about being Anakin Skywalker. And in other news….as I was driving in the van today, Avi (7) said to me: “Mom, if I had to choose between paying for Apollo…

3 Photowall Ideas

Posted on May 14, 2013February 15, 2019 by Renee

My favorite feature of our house is our large L-shaped living room. Two walls are covered with windows large windows the rest are adorned with photos. Photos are the *only* decoration on our walls, in fact. You might say I’m a bit obsessed. I just finished up our third (and main) photowall this weekend and am…

Stridor the Superhero

Posted on April 30, 2013May 1, 2013 by Renee

I have been envisioning Superhero photos of Apollo all winter long…I just needed the weather to warm up enough for me to do the photos. Enoch and Judah have convinced Apollo that his superhero name is Stridor. Stridor also happens to be the medical term for his noisy, wet breathing. As a photographer, nothing gives me…

The Value of Newborn Photography

Posted on January 30, 2013February 17, 2019 by Renee

I know what you’re thinking. You’re a newborn photographer, of course you are going to say newborn photography is “important”. While that’s true, I want to tell you, as a mom, why newborn photography is so very important to me. My last baby, Apollo, was born by emergency c-section. He had a bit a rough…

Birth Photography and Doulas

Posted on December 19, 2012February 5, 2018 by Renee

Adalia got the call on Friday afternoon…she is now a certified doula with PALS! I am so proud of her. She has worked hard for this, beginning with her doula training at Bastyr University back in 2010  to attending births and everything in between. The very next day, Saturday,  she was doula at the birth…

Apollo’s World

Posted on September 11, 2012February 17, 2019 by Renee

{The following photos were taken with my brand lens, the Canon 15mm 2.8 fisheye. It just arrived in the mail and I can’t to play with it some more!} Well,  today we’re off to Seattle Children’s Hospital with our favorite curly-haired toddler. And speaking of that toddler, I have to share a few things he’s…
